How do you make a link for an event?

You set up Facebook events to organize a gathering or conference for your Facebook followers. You can also link Facebook events on your website, which sets up an external link so other users can also see the event plans and dates. You must copy the Facebook page's URL on your main event page to post the address for website readers.

  1. Open a Web browser and log in to your Facebook account. Open the page for your Facebook event.

  2. Copy the URL in the Web browser's navigation text box. This is the URL you paste to your website HTML page.

  3. Right-click the HTML page where you want the link to appear. Click "Open With" and select your HTML editor.

  4. Paste the link into an anchor tag on your page. The following code is an example of an HTML anchor tag:

<a href="facebook.com/eventlink.htm"> Click here to see the event plans</a>

Paste the URL you copied into the "href" property.

  5. Save the changes and open the page in a Web browser. Click the link to verify that it works properly.

Events are a type of calendar entry that is structured around a scheduled time, with options to connect to your email, phone, and other calendars. To create a new event, click on the plus button available in the top right corner of a date on your calendar or click in the white space of your Day Boxes. To access and edit an existing Event, open the Event Editor by clicking an Event link on your calendar.

Note: Links are one of the advanced Event Editor features available only to paid Keep&Share accounts.

Event hyperlinks are links to any URL on the web that you can add to your calendar Event in order to provide more information. You can add up to 3 links to any event, and they will appear below the primary Event Link on your calendar. The difference between Event hyperlinks and the primary Event link is that the primary Event link opens the Event Editor, while additional Event hyperlinks open to external URLs.
