Two numbers are in the ratio 5 : 7 if the sum of the numbers is 720, find the numbers

ratio=5 is to 7       sum=5+7=12         total sum of numbers=720       first number=5/12 x 720=300     second number=7/12 x 720=420 checking=   300+420=720 as  given in the question.        

therefore, first number is 300 and the second number is 420.

first number will be 300 and second will be 420
 

5x + 7x = 720 , 12x= 720 , x = 720 ? 12 , x = 60
