If you have add your Facebook into the popup setting but the Like button does not show, it might be one of these reasons:

- Your Facebook page has been set with restrictions and it is not a public page.

- You entered the wrong link on the app setting.

Case 1:  Your Facebook page has been set with restrictions and it is not a public page.

We’re talking about Facebook Business Pages, not personal profiles. If you’re not sure if your Facebook page is viewable to the general public, then give it this quick test:  Go to Facebook >> check to see if you logged in, and if so just click on the drop-down menu next to “Home” on the right-hand side, scroll down and click logout >> Log out of Facebook. You may want to clear your cache (on your browser) as well.

Now enter in your Facebook URL, and when it pulls up your page do you see the generic Facebook page asking you to sign up or login? Or, do you actually see your page, but it has an option to log in on top?  Below are two images. The first one shows a public page, while the second one shows a restricted page.

If your page has restrictions, then the user will need to be logged in to view your page. To adjust Facebook Settings: Log in to Facebook >> Go to your page  >> Click “Settings” >> Click “General” on the left-hand side.

  • “Country Restrictions”: If you have a restriction your page will not be public. Someone must be logged in, in order to view your page.
  • “Age Restriction”: If you have a restriction your page will not be public. Someone must be logged in, in order to view your page. If your page is for a bar is alcohol-related you must choose “alcohol restriction” which means your page will not be public. If you don’t go with its proper restriction you put your page and your business at risk for not being compliant. Bummer, we know!
  • “Page Moderation”: If there is anything written in that box, your page will not be public. Someone must be logged in, in order to view your page.
  • “Profanity Filter”: If you have selected an option other than “Turn off” your page will not be public. Someone must be logged in, in order to view your page.

Those are the 4 reasons that your Facebook page would require someone to log in in order to see your page.

Please note that you only need to add your Facebook Username or Twitter/Instagram Handle, not the whole link. If you add the wrong link, the Like button may not show.

Hello Warriors,

[Not sure if this was posted before, but gonna post it anyways hope it helps someone]

Recently I have noticed the Like button not working on ~50% of the pages on my blogs.

Problem: When I click the Like button, It Likes and then auto Unlikes, i.e. it returns to it's Unliked state. And this happens on random pages.

I searched on google and I found lot of people facing the same problem. I spent a lot of time trying to fix the issue, changing settings, like button features etc etc. Nothing helped.

Then I found a solution on a blog which is not a perfect solution but it works for most people (may not work for all).

Possible Solution:
- Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/
- In the Input URL paste your page URL where the like button is not working (e.g http://www.mywebsite.com/my-article/)
- Click the Lint button

That should do, now you can go and visit your page to try the Like button.

- IF it still does not work, when the Lint tool shows you the result. Scroll all the way down and you will see that there is a Like button.
- Click that Like button (basically you are liking the flawed page)

That should solve it. If not, then you probably have to wait for facebook to fix it.

** The tiresome part of this is that you have to do this for all the URLs/Pages where Like button is not working. But once you do it, it will work for everyone (you & visitors).

I do not have large blogs, so I used this method to fix them all. I hope it helps someone too.

Why can't I like someone's post on Facebook?

If you've tried to like posts from a given person but are unable to, yet you can like other posts from others, chances are that you've been blocked.

How do I get my like button back on Facebook?

Go to Settings › General, then click the Share tab. Enable the Facebook Like/Recommend button setting by clicking the “thumb up” Like icon. Then click the settings (...) icon in the upper left of the button.

Why is Facebook not showing likes 2022?

This means that only people connected to that person will be able to see the action. In some cases they restrict the like to just themselves, meaning no one can see the like. You may see someone like your page, but not see the count increment.
