Why does Bella have a mind shield

This is going to be kind of hard to explain, but I'll try my best. Whenever you become a vampire, your special ability is nothing but a stronger version of a power that you already had when you were human. If you've read Breaking Dawn, you know that once Bella becomes a vampire, her special ability is a mind shield. That means that she can place a mental shield over herself and other people so that special abilities that deal with the mind (i.e., mind reading) won't work on them for as long as they have the shield over them.

Bella's power is a shield against mental abilities. Some of the characters, like Bella, Alice and Jasper, had their powers showing weakly while they were still human. Bella was already immune to Edward and Aro's mind reading and Jane's torture, but she couldn't extend her shield yet or lower it.

There's no knowing who will be on the soundtrack. Bill Condon did say around 15 songs on the soundtrack and that they are determining it now. The soundtracks are always wonderful. The bands you listed were the more well-known bands; however, the other ones are worth a looking into. Their other albums are note-worthy. Most of the artists on the soundtracks are more independent. Which I think is fantastic. Who I'd love to see on the BD soundtrack is Bon Iver. They were on the New Moon ost, but I want more! All of their stuff is wonderful and very suiting for the whole Twilight world. I'd love some music from Rob. His voice is very fitting as well. Raw and visceral. It adds so much more to the scenes! So yeah, those are who I hope to be on the soundtrack. I can't wait til we know the track listing :)

The only band that I think has to be on it is Muse. Their Stephanie's favorite and they've been on every soundtrack so far, it would be sad to see them go. Other than that I LOVE to see Rob come back and do a song. I love his voice. I wouldn't mind Florence and Machine, Bon Iver, or The Killers coming back either. As for new, 100 Monkeys, or just Jackson, would be fun. What I would really like though A Fine Frenzy. I think that would be awesome. Honestly though, I don't mind. I've discovered some amazing bands through the soundtracks and I'm ready to see it all over again. The soundtracks are one of my favorite parts of the movies and I love them all. I'm sooo excited!!!

I hope that Paramore, Muse and Death Cab For Cutie will be on the soundtrack again... and florence and the mashine would be cool :)

No. I never saw any trailers for it or anything, so it doesn't particularly interest me. Also, I'm not a Taylor fan, so that's really no persuasion for me to see the film. Maybe if people say it's good, I'll rent it on DVD when it comes out and see, but only if it seems like a good film. to be honest, having Taylor in it would actually be just a reason for me NOT to see a movie, because I'm sick of all the hype and fangirling over the Twilight actors, and the acting in Twilight isn't that hard, so I don't even know if they're decent actors or anything, other than Kristen, because I've seen her in other things. And for anyone who's all like, "OMG You're nuts, Taylor is SOOO HOTT!", to that, I just say...I've never really found him good looking. He;s just not my type. Far from it.

As of now? No. Not because I don't care for Taylor as an actor, though I don't really care for his acting, but because the story just doesn't look that great. It looks like a wanna-be Jason Bourne and James Bond movie. If I'm going to see it, I need to see more than what we got in the trailer. Because it didn't sway me at all. I was actually curious about the movie when he was filming it, but the trailer failed to impress me. It just looks like it's trying too hard to be great. But, it will be interesting to see Taylor in a movie outside/after the Twilight hysteria. We'll be able to see if he can hold his own as a lead. However, I will hold off judgment until I see the movie. If I will see it in theatres, to be determined.

Midnight Sun is the unfinished novel that is actually Twilight but from Edwards point of view....Stephenie Meyers stop writing it when the first few chapters were leaked out onto the internet...she is not sure when or if she will ever finish it....and since the actors were only signed up to do the four books....its anyones guess if there will be any other movies after Breaking Dawn.

i think Edward did the right thing by taking the decision of leaving Bella in NEW MOON , beacause he always wanted to make Bella safe.So from his perspective it was quite a right decision.But he did not consider the other problems e.g. Victoria,but he did not know about that at all.So Edward may be right from his perspective but as a reader who is equally sympathetic to Bella i should say Edward should have heard about bella's feelings too.So the conclusion is the situations controlled their lives and decisions.I am equally touched by both their feelings...as a sensitive and caring lover EDWARD did the right thing and i appreciate it.

i think that was a little stupid, because, he knows he love her, and he knows he can't live without her. but, thank God afer all they are together forever.

I think he did the right choice from his pow. Because he thought this was best for Bella and he always wanted just the best for her. If you sit to think about it it is one hell of a sacrifice the one he made also. Because he loved her more than ANYTHING and it was so damn hard for him to leave her. In fact this shows just hoe much he cared about her. He was willing to sentence himself to an eternity of misery without her just for her to be alive and happy even if with somebody else. Of course from Bella's pow he didn't do the right thing but she thought that he left her because he didn't loved her any more. When she found out the true reason of course she forgave him. Although he wasn't quite able to forgive himself for doing that :) wow I hope my long answer doesn't bother anyone lol

I dont think edward is right. He should have known what will happen to bella after he leaves. I agree with alice, 'he is a fool to think that you could survive alone'

No i dont hate edward at all he left bella cause he want her to be safe. Edward is the best i love him .

I didn't like his actions, but I think it was the best thing for Bella, so she can't be hurt again.

I am not mad at him for it because, even though I dont think he did the right thing,I believe that he did what he believed was right at the time. Like Alice said in Eclipse, Edward has a tendancy to overreact. Clearly though, he had no intention of hurting Bella. He only wanted to keep her safe, and to maybe give her a chance at a normal life. He hated himself for hurting her.

Well if I have to choose one I would say Laurent because at least in the first movie he announced the Cullens of what were James's intentions.
