The length of two sides of a triangle are 7 cm and 9 cm. The length of the third side may lie between a 1 cm and 10 cm b 2 cm and 8 cm c 2 cm and 16 cm d 1 cm and 16 cm

Solution

Option (c).

The third side must be greater than the difference between the two sides and less than the sum of the two sides.
Sum of two sides =7+9=16 cm
Difference of two sides =97=2 cm
So, the length of the third side must lie between 2 cm and 16 cm.
