In a quiz, team \( A\) scored \( -40,10,0\) and team \( B\) scored \( 10,0,-40\) in three successive rounds. Which team scored more? Can we say that we can add integers in any order?

The sum of two consecutive odd numbers is 56 . Find the numbers

Solution

Let the first odd number be x Then next odd number will be x+2

So sum of two consecutive odd numbers is $x+x+2=56$

$\Rightarrow 2x+2=56$
$\Rightarrow 2x=56-2=54$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{54}{2}=27$

So, $x+2=27+2=29$ Hence, two consecutive odd numbers are 27 and 29.
