How do I stop emails from TripAdvisor?

TripAdvisor now offers a free service called Review Express that lets hotel and B&B owners who have their business listed on the site send review request emails. The goal of the service is to increase the number and quality of ratings and reviews that hoteliers receive.

NOTE: In order to proceed you'll need to have an account on Tripadvisor Review and tooked ownership of your property.

To activate the service, follow the steps bellow:

STEP 1: Go to the Tripadvisor Review page and login with your account.

STEP 2:  Choose your property.

STEP 3:  Press "Get Started"

STEP 4:  Choose Create Email and the Language Option. The template should be according the language selected.

• Click on Save as New to continue:

STEP 5:  A sample of the review form will be showned. Click on Continue to Send.

STEP 6:  Select the email or emails you wish to be showned as the sender then choose the first check box if you want TripAdvisor to send an email to guests that did not have submited a review.

• Choose the second check box if you want to have a copy of the email. 

• The last check box is mandatory. You must select it in order to continue. Press Send to proceed.

STEP 7:  If everything is correct you will see a pop up like the one bellow. Press Close to continue:

Step 7:  Go to the Settings and choose Opt In Now:

STEP 8:  Choose your provider as Guestcentric and press Next:

STEP 9:  Select "Accept Terms and Conditions" and press Next:

STEP 10:  Confirm your "From" email address and press Submit:

STEP 11:  The activation is now complete:

To delete your TripAdvisor account:

1. Sign into your TripAdvisor.com account.
2. Click on your name, then choose Account Info from the drop-down menu.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Close Your Account.
4. Choose a reason for leaving.
5. Click in the box provided, and enter your password.
6. Click the blue Close My Account button.

Detailed instructions of how to close a TripAdvisor account

1. Sign in to your TripAdvisor account one last time

Go to www.tripadvisor.com and sign in to your account.

2. Access your TripAdvisor account settings

Click on your name, and then click Account Info from the drop-down menu.

3. Locate the option to close your account

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Close Your Account.

4. Indicate why you are leaving TripAdvisor, and contact their customer service if you wish

You will now be given options regarding why you wish to close your account. Click Change Subscriptions (to emails), Remove Your Review, Disconnect Facebook (account), or Disconnect Google (account) if you wish to do any of these things instead of deactivating your account. If you don’t, then click on one of the bubbles on the left side of the screen to indicate why you are leaving TripAdvisor.

You can also choose “I Have Other Reasons for Leaving” if none of these apply. If you do, you can click in the box below it (highlighted here) and type in a message to their customer service team. Then scroll down for the final step.

5. Confirm that you would like to permanently close your account

Click in the box labelled “Please Enter Your Password to Finish Closing Your Account” and enter your account password. Then click the Close My Account button to the right of your password.
