It was the best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time, and is often considered a landmark of the entire gaming culture.

9 years later, in 2013, a mobile port of the game was released for iOs, with Windows and Android getting a slice of the pie a year later. However, even after almost a decade since the mobile release, modders and gamers have yet to uncover every Easter egg the game has to offer, with many fans unlocking new cheats, and rediscovering old cheats from the PC version.

GTA: San Andreas Mobile’s cheats relies on the debug engine that the third-party developer, War Drum studios, installed to make game testing and other critical development processes easier and faster. This is very much common in the game development industry, especially in open-world games like GTA or The Elder Scrolls, where the sheer size of the game means that an infinite number of variables are constantly playing with each other, which, in turn, can lead to unforeseen bugs every time the game is played. To make it easier for gamers as well, game devs will almost-always leave in these debug engines just so players can debug the game if (or when) the game goes wrong.

Of course, veteran gamers know that a debug engine is basically a cheat-whenever-you-want console, if you know the right code. Luckily, the GTA games have a long and storied history of providing their players with cheats. How to Use Cheats in GTA: San Andreas Mobile

If you’re familiar with how console screens and debug engines work, you’d know that, for you to access a cheat, you need to type down a specific code. This is true for GTA: San Andreas Mobile, but the difference being that the mobile version’s cheats won’t work with the native keyboard of iOs or Android. Rather, GTA: San Andreas Mobile’s cheats require either a third-party app or an external keyboard. Here’s how to use the cheats in GTA: San Andreas Mobile:

• Add A Keyboard To Your Phone: As mentioned, you’ll need to have either an external keyboard (that connects to your phone via USB or BlueTooth), or have a virtual keyboard via a third-party app (we recommend the MS virtual keyboard). Otherwise, the console won’t recognize your native keyboard.
• Save The Game: As with all cheats, always save your game before applying any code to the console. Also take note: the moment you input a cheat, Achievements for the game will be completely disabled.
• Input The Code: Just like the old GTA games, all you need to do is open the console (no need to pause the game), type in the cheat code, and press enter. The cheat will automatically take effect.
• Cheat Active: You should see these words flash somewhere at the top of the screen when you’re done inputting the cheat. If you don’t see this, there’s a big chance you’ll need to re-input the code.

Note: Some of the cheats we’ve lifted below come straight from the PC version. Most of these have been tested, but some might cause your GTA: San Andreas Mobile game to crash or bug out. The most common bug players have reported is the screen suddenly spinning out of control. Should this happen, simply pinch the screen, zoom in and out, and it should stop.

• $250,000, Full Health, and Full Armor: “HESOYAM”

Also repairs a vehicle if you’re in one

• Adrenaline: “MUNASEF” or “ANOSEONGLASS”

Slows down time, increases player resistance, melee damage and aiming accuracy

• Complete Current Mission: “BYIXZIY”

Completes the missions you are currently on. Just note it doesn’t work for all missions

• Full Invincibility: “GONPXWR

Makes you totally invulnerable to ANYTHING within the game – bullets, drowning, etc.

• Hitman: “NCSGDAG” or “PROFESSIONALKILLER”

Raises your level for all weapons to Hitman

• Infinite Ammo: “WANRLTW” or “FULLCLIP”

Warning: Pedestrians also gain Infinite Ammo

• Lock Wanted Level: “AEZAKMI” or “IFIRSTDOZ” or “TESTEDUCATIONALSKILLS”

Removes all stars

Shows the the mobile interface for the game (ie controls)

Shows “status text” above your character’s head as well as colored bars above PEDS

• Stats Changer: “XBOX_HELPER”

Changes various in-game stats: money spent on tattoos, times Carl has been busted, and pedestrians wasted. Complete each action one more time and the relevant Achievement would be unlocked (if cheats didn’t disable Achievements)

• Weapon Set 4: “BIEUHQY”

Gives you the minigun, thermal goggles and a sex toy. Re-enter the code and your thermal googles will become night vision goggles
