Who plays eve in last man standing

Mike Baxter's favorite daughter is coming home!

Kaitlyn Dever, the actress who plays Tim Allen's youngest, Eve Baxter, on Last Man Standing, is set to make a return appearance in the ninth and final season of the hit Fox sitcom.

The former series regular changed her status to a recurring role in season 7 in order to focus on other projects, including Booksmart and Netflix's Unbelievable.

Although she's an even bigger star these days, it's clear that Kaitlyn hasn't forgotten all of her Last Man Standing fans. We think it's a testament to how great this show and cast are that she keeps coming back! So, without further ado, here's everything you need to know about Kaitlyn's highly anticipated return to Last Man Standing.

Fans were already treated to an Eve cameo in the season 9 premiere, when she virtually attended Mandy's socially distanced baby shower. Eve only appeared briefly in this episode, but it sounds like we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the upcoming episode “The Two Nieces of Eve," which will air Thursday, April 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Fox.

The official synopsis reads: "Eve comes home for a visit and struggles to connect with her nieces. Meanwhile, Kyle turns to Ed when he worries he isn’t dynamic enough in his preaching."

Eve is such an important member of the Baxter clan and it will be so great to see her back at home. We have a feeling she'll be getting along with her adorable nieces in no time!

How many episodes will Eve be in?

As of right now, it looks like Kaitlyn will only be back for one episode. But since this is the final season of Last Man Standing, it's possible she'll return one last time to say goodbye. We're keeping our fingers crossed for that!

What happened to Eve on the show?

Eve has always been interested in the military, and at one point dreamed of becoming the first female sniper in the Marine Corps. Eve was upset when she didn't make it into the United States Military Academy, but at the end of season 6, she was accepted into the Air Force Academy.

Since then, Eve has been a recurring character on the show for seasons 7, 8, and 9. We totally understand Kaitlyn wanting to explore other roles, but we're so happy that she never left Eve behind.

Of course, after this season, we'll have to say goodbye to Eve and the rest of the Baxter family for good—and that will be a sad day, for sure! Until the final episode, we plan to enjoy every last moment of Last Man Standing.

  • Last Man Standing is coming to an end after nine entertaining seasons.
  • The finale is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, leading fans to wonder: Will Eve (played by Kaitlyn Dever) make an appearance?

Last Man Standing fans everywhere can’t help but wonder: Will Mike Baxter’s "favorite daughter" be coming home for the series finale?

While Kaitlyn Dever (who plays Eve Baxter, Mike’s youngest child) went from a series regular to a recurring role in season 7 to focus on her roles in Booksmart and Netflix’s Unbelievable, fans are convinced that she may make an appearance in the final episode of the series to join Tim Allen and the rest of the cast. But, is that just wishful thinking?

Will Eve come back for the Last Man Standing finale?

This isn’t the first show that begs the question of whether or not former series regulars will come back for an episode. Just this year, Grey’s Anatomy fans were met with the same quandary, only to be pointed in the direction of IMDB, where it was clear that some of the show’s most popular characters would, in fact, be back.

Fans chimed in with kind comments like "Miss seeing her every week. Great actress." and "Eve is my favorite" — a sure sign that they would love to see an appearance from her on the show's final episode.

With that in mind, we checked Kaitlyn’s IMDB and, as long as it’s up-to-date, it doesn’t look like she’ll be in the final episode of Last Man Standing. Her page currently reads that her only appearances in the ninth season were for episode one (“Time Flies”) and episode 14 (“The Two Nieces of Eve”). Though, that’s not to say it’s impossible. So, here’s hoping that Eve visits from the Air Force Academy and gives us the farewell we’re hoping for!

Cadet at the US Air Force Academy

Eve Baxter (Born 1998) is the youngest daughter of Vanessa and Mike Baxter.

Her youth can be tough to handle because her mother and father expect way more from her. Eve loves her dad very much and is usually on his side rather than Kristin's or Mandy's. She also has generally the same interests as Mike, but her newfound interest in boys begins to strain their relationship.

Eve joined a junior ROTC in S2 E11 Mike's Pole. She wanted to be the first female sniper in the marine corps. She wanted to get into West Point but got rejected. At the end of season 6, she was accepted in the Air Force Academy but didn't tell her parents until after she was accepted. She is a recurring character in seasons 7, 8, and 9.

Eve is portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever and first appeared in Last Man Standing's pilot episode.

Biography

"Pilot"

When Mike came home, she and the girls were making a welcome home banner, getting glitter on her soccer ball in the process.

Personality

Eve is a tomboy and very similar to Mike. She loves sports, getting dirty, and learning everything Mike knows about survival and hunting. Unlike the other girls, she doesn't use makeup very often. Sarcastic and quick-witted, she always manages to find ways out of situations and is very good at victory dances and beating the boys in sports several times. A fighter, she once buried Mandy's makeup after being called the "perfect plain bagel" and lived outside for days, thinking her mom wanted to destroy the planet.

Trivia

  • Despite being a tomboy, Eve has been known to wear makeup and do her hair. In one case, the parents said that someone had put a model's head on her.
  • Eve spoke the first line of the entire series: "Mandy, you're getting glitter on my soccer ball!"
  • She invented a "trademark suck it" dance which she has been seen to do more then once.
  • Eve is amazing at soccer and football and has played in school leagues for both sports.
  • She is also a brilliant pitcher, outing Mike when she played with the Outdoor Man team. When she was 13, she could throw a fastball 53mph.
  • Mike has said that Eve is his favorite but keeps it a secret from the rest of the family.
  • She wanted to be a mermaid when she was a child.
  • Some people are more terrified of Eve than Mike.
  • Out of all three of Mike's daughters, Eve is the best climber. Mike has said before that she has monkey hands.
  • Mike constantly refers to her as his son. Even Eve herself does this occasionally.
  • Despite being a strong boyish girl, Eve can easily crack to her mom.
  • She acts like a military informant to her parents when she finds dirt on her sisters. Her sisters say this is why her allowance was so big. She also finds dirt on her mother and reports it to Mike but never infront of Vanessa.
  • Eve is the only sister not to have a change in actress. Kristen's actress was changed from series 2 and Mandy's actress was changed from series 7.

Appearances

Eve appears in every episode of series 1-6 except for "Papa Bear". When the show was picked up by FOX, Kaitlyn Dever had made commitments to other projects by this time and as such was demoted to recurring cast member to make time for her other projects.
