The next season of The Voice will come with an extra dash of sweetener. Ariana Grande is joining the show for Season 21 as a full-time coach, replacing Nick Jonas, she announced Tuesday on Twitter.

“Surprise! I am beyond thrilled, honored [and] excited to be joining Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton next season — Season 21 of The Voice,” Grande tweeted with a photo of her fancy new chair. “Nick Jonas, we will miss you!”

“As an undeniable force in pop music, Ariana’s inimitable success in the music industry is extraordinary,” Jenny Groom, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, added in a statement. “We were thrilled to learn that she is a true fan of ‘The Voice’ and know that this enthusiasm will add to her impact as a dynamic coach. Ariana is a visionary with over a decade of experience in the music industry. Her unmatched vocal skills, creativity and unique expertise on all facets of the industry will make her an invaluable coach to the next generation of artists.”

In The Voice‘s ever-revolving game of musical chairs, Jonas (who had previously coached in Season 18) returned in Season 20 in to fill in for an exiting Gwen Stefani.

New episodes of The Voice‘s 20th season are currently airing on NBC. And speaking of replacements, Kelsea Ballerini sat in for Clarkson on Monday, an episode which saw several fan-favorite singers depart in the first Battles. The bittersweet episode also welcomed Dan + Shay (Team Blake), Luis Fonsi (Team Kelly), Brandy (Team Legend) and Darren Criss (Team Nick) as Battle advisors.

Blake Shelton thinks Ariana Grande's presence on The Voice is a "Thank U Next" to his time on the NBC music competition show. The 45-year-old country crooner, who is the only remaining original coach on the show, texted Grande over the weekend and the pop star thought it was so funny, she shared it on Instagram.

In the screenshot, Shelton's message is in response to a tabloid report that producers at The Voice are replacing him with Grande as she brings "fresh" energy to the show during her first season as a coach.

Shelton texted, "Thanks a lot Ari... Thanks a f**kin' lot.."

Grande clearly thought the exchange was funny, adding a heart to both of the texts and including the screenshot in a photo roundup.

Jokes aside, the "7 Rings" singer has been fitting right in with the other coaches on The Voice. Prior to the season starting, Grande spoke with ET about joining the show.

"I was a huge fan of The Voice. I have watched many seasons and I love watching the show," she told ET. "It always has the best energy, and it's just such wholesome, inspiring television. I love seeing the different voices and watching so many people start their careers."

Ariana Grande is joining hit show “The Voice,” replacing Nick Jonas as a coach.

The pop superstar, 27, will join the next season of the NBC show, Season 21, alongside regular coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.

A source told Page Six, “Ariana is a huge fan of The Voice and her management team has been negotiating to get her on the show for a while.

“She is replacing Nick Jonas, who is a [coach] on the current season, but he isn’t leaving for good. Nick will remain on rotation with other stars that have appeared on the show. The chances are he will be back soon.”

Multi Grammy-winning Grande has appeared on “The Voice” in the past, performing her hit “Into You” on the finale in 2016, but did not take part as a coach.

Her most recent album, “Positions,” broke the record for most songs to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and cementing her as Spotify’s most-streamed female artist of the past decade.
