Answer

Hydrogen and oxygen combine in the ratio of 1:8 by mass to form water .

This means 1g of Hydrogen reacts with 8g of Oxygen to form H 2 O  

1g Hydrogen →  8g Oxygen

3g Hydrogen →  3 × 8g Oxygen

                            = 24g Oxygen


Therefore, 24g Oxygen gas would be required to react completely with 3g of hydrogen gas .
