I have ADHD, anxiety, struggled with depression, and I have always gotten terrible emotional PMS around my period. I think I could be diagnosed with PMDD and this was NOT the pill for me. Didn’t realize for 7 months it was making me irritable and anxious and tired until I stopped taking it. I usually get those symptoms really bad before and during my period but on this BC it felt like that all the time. Probably had to do with how often i was spotting. If you struggle emotionally around your period i would suggest talking to your doctor extensively about that to make sure you get put on a BC that will work for you.

I had high hopes, even after reading the negative reviews. I knew that thee would be a period of adjustment, and I was prepared to give this time. Well...after 2 months I became anemic from bleeding every single day on this. As far as other side effects, I really didn’t have more than headaches and my blood pressure did go up considerably, which was concerning because I have never ever had high blood pressure. I am 45 and didn’t want to take the combined pill or IUD. I have no idea where to go from here. After being off this pill for two weeks, I am still bleeding. I’m tired, frustrated, sad, and regret ever taking this. Exogenous hormones apparently do not work well for me. I’m disappointed, because I was very hopeful and excited about a non estrogen option.

Like others have said this medicine has basically saved my life. I used to get the absolute WORST pains from my endometriosis and this has been the only thing that’s helped. I was so happy after bleeding for so many days . As time went on I realize it started to mess with my mood I felt more sad and depressed I also stop getting acne super fatigue I couldn’t even get out of bed . As soon as you miss one or don’t take it on time I would experience break threw bleeding . After my 3 week on it I just stop taking the medicine I wasn’t feeling like my self so two days after I stop taking the medicine I start to bleed I’m guessing this is my period I have no idea . But I do know a huge blood clot came out one day and oh god I was so scared .. I rather bleed to death instead of taking fake hormones

Rating it a 4/5 because it really helps with my endo symptoms. I’ve been taking 10mg of this a day for almost two years. At first, the adjustment was difficult (headaches, mood swings etc) but after a couple weeks I was totally fine! I have not gotten my period since. I have very occasional spotting. My cramps are super rare. This is saying a lot coming from someone with severe endometriosis who had cramps 5/7 days a week!! The only downside is that side effects aren’t great: weight gain, fatigue, insomnia (yes both fatigue and insomnia somehow), irritability, and a LOT of sweating haha. It’s annoying but way better than the painful cramps and crazy heavy periods I used to experience. This literally changed my life!

Pros: I was on traditional combination birth control pills for a few years and the estrogen was causing hypertension. When I switched to this prescription, my BP returned to normal within a few weeks and has remained normal for the last year. Did its job as a contraceptive. Cons: Very abnormal cycles. Sometimes I have 2 periods a month, sometimes I have none. PMS symptoms are worse on this than combination pill, but tolerable. You have to take it at the same time every day for the full effect. If I'm late by just a few hours with one pill, I often will spot at some point in that cycle. All in all, I'm glad I switched to it as it did its job as a contraceptive and was better for my BP, but I will likely switch to an IUD at some point.

Every day for months now my joints and muscles have been severely painful and sore and I thought I had an autoimmune condition. I am short of breath. My doctor checked me thoroughly for a deep vein thrombosis. I have had to take Motrin daily.I have gained 25 lb in 5 months. I have stopped taking the medication for the last 2 days and I already feel better. I thought I was falling apart and I did not know why. Then it occurred to me that the only thing that I have changed in the last 5.5 months was add this medication!!! I have been diagnosed with pcos over 10 years ago, and have had irregular periods. Since December 2019 i bled every day until December 2020 and the doctors were unable to detect why and just put it down to my pcos. I was then put on Norethindrone x3 a day for 10 days and then go down to one a day for 11 days. Immediately after starting the tablet my periods stop. However when i would take my 7 day break to have a period the symptoms were awful, headaches, period pains travelling down my legs, heavy heavy periods ect, still i carried on taking the tablets as I thought anything was better than bleedintg for another year! After three months i decided to stop the tablets, and had my 7 day period and everything was fine. Exactly 21 days after finishing my period I have come on and have had very minimal symptoms, it is almost as if the tablet has regulated my body again. Could not recommend the tablets enough.

My boobs are down 1 size....after going from a b cup to a d cup recently (while losing weight). This pill seems to have balanced my hormones in a positive way.. I no longer have to call in sick because.im hemorrhaging 3 days a month & may even rethink the hysterectomy. If u are a healthy breastfeeding lady, I'd stay off it... After 3 weeks of taking this medicine is when I noticed all of the side affects along with my bleeding not stopping. I could not sleep with severe insomnia, extremely painful cramps that prevented me from going to work, major mood swings, and SEVERE depression. I have never had depression like that before. It did reduce the amount of bleeding I was having, but never fully stopped the bleeding. Doc took me off this drug and switched over to an IUD instead.

My doctor switched me from TriNessa to Norethindrone .35mg to see if the Trinessa at my age was what was causing my almost daily migraines. I’d been on some generic form of the same pill since I was 16 and I’m not 35, so I was open to trying a new pill even though I otherwise had never had issues with my previous pill. Migraines didn’t start until maybe 5 years ago. I do feel like it has helped with the migraines. I don’t get them except for a few a month now when it was almost daily. BUT I am bleeding pretty much every two weeks for at least 6-9 days. I do my even know if not having migraines is worth that! I also used to never have too terrible cramps and the cramps with this are way worse for me and last for 3 days compare to the 1 day a month I used to cramp. I vowed to give it 3 months to let my body adjust and I’m now almost to the end of month three and nothing has changed even a little bit. I’ll be calling my doc to either try something different or go back to my regular pill. I’d rather pop excedrin daily than be bleeding all the time. It’s not worth it.

F that lol. It made me feel like an apathetic zombie most of the time and when I did have emotion, it was pure rage or distraught. My libido completely disappeared along with my natural lubrication and sensations. Didn't help with endo pains. Turned my stomach into a bottomless pit about an hour after taking it - I ate EVERYTHING in sight. Gave me nagging headaches. Only thing good I can say is that I'm not pregnant.

I started it after my 6 weeks post natal appt as suggested. The first pack that I started I got my menstrual 3 times the next month I didn’t get my menstrual at all and now I’m on the 3rd pack and I still have yet to get my menstrual. I don’t get any other side effects (at least that I’ve noticed) considering this isn’t normal for me taking a pill form of contraceptive I took a pregnancy test and it did come out negative. So I guess I will not be getting my menstrual monthly which is fine, partially. Once I stop nursing I’ll switch to a contraceptive pill that I’ve taken in the past. Us woman should get a monthly menstrual as I feel that it keeps us in balance.

I tried it for 1 month and had 2 long, heavy periods. It was annoying having to set an alarm to take it. I didn't have much spotting or any mood swings. I did have hot flashes tho AND puffed right up. I didn't realize how swollen and puffy my whole body was until today (1 week off of it). I have started on Aviane again bc I have zero side effects. I used it for many years previously.

I was switched to this because I have high blood pressure and my Dr didn't want me taking estrogen for bc anymore because of the risk I've been on it over a month and have had really bad muscle/joint pain since starting it I work a very physical job so I'm no stranger to bodyaches but this is to much I've actually set up a tubal ligation surgery so I can get off this

I take it at night and I haven’t had a period in who knows how long.. it keeps my pain under control as long as I don’t miss a dose. I have a very great obgyn who prescribed this and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Let me start off by saying my obgyn introduced this medicine to me because I would have prolonged bleeding with my period after taking the medicine for 2 days or maybe a day in a half I completely stop bleeding .

I am taking this medication every 2 months because I have PCOS and don't get a period. I will literally do anything to not have to take it, it's so horrible! My anxiety gets so bad I feel like I'm having a heart attack. I only take it 12 days at a time 5mg each but it's 12 days of hell then I have a horrible withdrawal bleed. It messes with you mentally so much.

I took this for 5. 5 months. It worked well for my nonstop uterine bleeding.I am 54 yrs old. I have been having terrible headaches for the last 4 months and I am not a headache sufferer. Why did I not know to look out for this and why did not any of my doctors suggest that it was this medication. I have truly suffered the last few months terribly.

I took this medication for 6 months for uterine fibroid pain and heavy periods. I bled non stop. From Thanksgiving to Valentines day, I had 13 days where I wasn't bleeding. I stopped taking it 3 weeks and I am still bleeding non stop. This pill was not for me and has made me not even want to try another.

I have only been on this pill for 17 days and I have to stop taking it. I can’t ride it out. I have very painful and irregular periods each month. The doctors recommended a hysterectomy but I’m only 40 years old. Wanted to give this a shot to see if it would help. Every day that I take it, I get nauseous. It has gotten somewhat better but I am sweating profusely and through layers. I’d rather be in pain a few days that to be sweating all of them. I really wanted this to work but it’s making me feel worse than before.

I started taking this drug in Jan of 2021. I have bad menstrual cycle due to fibroids. I was taking this at 5 mg. After a month without any help my dosage was changed to 10 mg. I started getting light headed. One morning after I got my day started. I woke up on the floor with a bloody nose, with my seven yr old daughter freaking out. I spent the night in the hospital on a heart monitor. Not to mention my hair loss was so severe I had to shave my head. ????

Tried this pill bc I got migraines with the combo pill. Took it 6 days. On day 6 I almost passed out twice and have constant severe anxiety, shaky, clammy, panicky, nausea, and stomach upset. Id describe it like withdrawal symptoms. I’m a stay at home mom to my one year old while my husband is on the road driving trucks, and it is unbearable and so hard to even function the last two days. This pill is awful!!! I’m so lost on where to go from here. Do not take this crap!

I am taking this for large fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding. Bleeding so much each month, I am severely anemic. My pms symptoms are also typically terrible with bloating, uterine pain, depression and exhaustion. 2 weeks in, I've only gotten a very light period, and my pms is gone. But if you are in my position - I'd go for it. Seems to be working!

I was started on this medicine to stop my bleeding, as no other birth control was working. Started off with 5 mg in the AM and 5 mg in the PM, bleeding didn't stop, so my doc upped it to 3x a day.

I hate this pill! I took it for about 3 weeks. I know you are supposed to give it time but honestly, it made me feel so awful that I didn't think it was worth "waiting it out" or giving it a chance.

I recently gave birth in August and chose to take my contraceptive in pill form. I was then prescribed Norethindrone due to the fact that I would be nursing.
