Don't worry it's quick to set up and in the long run it will be an excellent hub for your fans to engage with you and each other. You will however need to already have a personal Facebook profile. Set one up here. On your personal Facebook profile go to Create and click Page. This will bring up the Facebook page wizard. Follow the steps there to create a Facebook page. Take your time and ensure that you
follow the steps on the wizard and setup the page so it showcases you in the best way possible. Converting a Facebook profile into a pageIf you are currently using a personal Facebook profile as your artist page (i.e people are sending you friend requests instead of liking your page) you can convert the profile by following the information provided below. Follow the link here: https://facebook.com/pages/create/migrate This brings up a conversion wizard from Facebook. The migration wizard here will guide you through the process, from choosing your categories, inviting your friends and followers to like the newly created artist page, migrating across videos, photos and content. Once you have chosen everything, select Create Page and Facebook will create the page for you. Make sure you have invited all of your fans and followers to like the new page. Once that is done hit publish and you now have your artists page. If you are copying across loads of content like videos and photos this can sometimes take a little while. I know you had good intentions when you created a Facebook Profile for your business. You understood it was important to have a presence for your business on Facebook, and you probably didn’t know there was a difference between Profiles and Business Pages. And if you did know the difference, you probably didn’t realize it’s actually against Facebook’s Terms of Service to use Facebook Profiles for business purposes.
Facebook Business Pages can run ads on Facebook (Profiles can’t) and Pages have several other features and functions that are beneficial for businesses and that Profiles don’t have. The good news is that it’s pretty easy to convert your Facebook Profile into a Facebook Business Page. Here’s how. How to Convert your Facebook Profile into a Business PageTo begin, visit the Facebook Profile to Page Migration tool here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/migrate/ . You need to be signed into Facebook as the Profile you want to convert to a Page when beginning this process. Click the Get Started button. It’s little more than a click and a brief delay to begin the conversion process. After you get started, you’ll get to decide what from your Profile you want to carry over to your new Page. You can select which of your current Facebook Friends you want to move over to your new Business Page. You also get to select which photos and videos to move over. Any Facebook Friends that you don’t select to move over to your new Business Page will remain as Friends on your personal Profile. Note: you’ll be able to access your Profile as a Profile AND as a Page for 14 days. This is to allow you to get everything set up with your new Business Page and post to your Profile alerting your Facebook Friends that you are undergoing a conversion. During this time, you’ll be able to find both in Facebook search, too. Next, Facebook will ask you to complete the About section of your new Page. This information can be further edited or expanded upon once you complete this migration process, so don’t worry too much about getting everything in right now. Next, choose which Friends you want to carry over to your Page. In most cases, you’d want to click the Select All button on the right side, at the top of your Friends list. After choosing your Friends, you get to choose which Photo Albums to carry over. Lastly, you’ll be directed to the Page Roles section of your new Page. By default, your Profile is the Admin of your Page. This is the perfect time to add your personal Profile as another Admin of the Page. After adding yourself, you’ll have to click Save and re-enter your password. Now you can move through setting up your Page as needed, including choosing your Facebook username, creating a Call to Action button, selecting a Category for your Business Page, and writing your Story. Once the 14 day waiting period passes and you have all that you need from the Profile you were using as your Page, you could delete that Profile to avoid confusion for your new Page Likes and if you don’t intend to use it as a Profile any longer. Just make sure you have added yourself as an Admin (and not a lesser Role like Editor or Advertiser) before doing so. How do I make my Facebook page migrate?To convert your profile to a Facebook Page: Go to Create a Facebook Page Based on Your Profile. Click Get Started and follow the on-screen instructions. Your new Page will automatically publish once the conversion process is finished.
