Android users can transfer their contacts over to an iPhone using a few different methods. They can do so using the Move to iOS app developed by Apple specifically to help you transfer your data. This app can be used when you are setting up your iPhone. Users can also make use of a common Google account, manually transfer contacts through a VCF file, or use the SIM card to transfer them to your iPhone.

How to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone using Move to iOS app

1. Download Move to iOS app from the Google Play store on your Android phone.

2. Open the app and tap on Continue.

3. You will be greeted by Terms and Conditions. Tap on Agree.

4. The app will then ask for location permission, access to contacts, calendar, storage, and SMS, all of which you will have to grant.

5. On the Find Your Code screen, tap on Continue. You will then be asked to enter a code.

6. Move over to your iPhone and during the setup process, you will see a Move Data from Android option. Tap on it.

7. You will get a ten-digit or six-digit code. Enter this code into your Android phone.

8. You should now see a Transfer Data screen that asks you to select the content you want to transfer. Select Contacts, along with whatever data you want to move over and tap Next.

9. Leave both devices idle until the loading bar on your iPhone finishes.

10. Once the loading bar completes, tap on Done on your Android phone and Continue on your iPhone to finish the setup process.

You can make a VCF file, transfer it over to the iPhone and then open it to grab all your contact data. The process is more straightforward than it seems; let’s walk you through it.

How to transfer Android contacts to iOS manually:

1. Unlock your Android device and head to the Contacts app.
2. Hit the three-dot menu button on the top-right corner.
3. Tap on Select all.
4. Tape on the Share button.
5. You can now select how to share the file with your iPhone. I like sending it to myself via email, so hit Gmail and send yourself the file.
6. On your iPhone, open the email or extract the file from wherever you stored it.
7. Tap on the attached file and select the Share button.
8. Select the Contacts app.
