How to know if someone ignored you on snapchat

The most irritating thing about Snapchat is that there’s no “discover” feature. Finding friends to follow on the app is confusing; finding anyone else at all is a lost cause. (Unless you read our Snapchat 101 list, of course!)

On top of that, there’s seemingly no way to tell which friends you’ve added have added you back. (This means it’s hard to tell which of your friends actually want to receive your 16 daily selfies with the flower-crown filter.)

Unless you know this quick hack that lets you tell who’s added you back, as Snapchatter Cyrene Quiamco showed us.

Open the app and drag the ghost down from the top of the screen. You’ll see your Snapcode. At the bottom of the screen select “My Friends.”

Next tap on the name of one of your friends. I picked my sister, Bailey. (Mom, if you’re reading this, please note Bailey is one of my “BEST FRIENDS.”)

Next, your friend’s username and Snapcode will pop up. If you can see their Snapchat score (a number derived from the number of snaps a user has sent and received) under their name, that person is following you.

If there is no number next to their username, that person is not following you. Weirdly, my close and personal friend DJ Khaled is not following me on Snapchat.

Find anyone who you think might be avoiding you in my example we will use this person he has not opened my snap in 20 hours and is trying to avoid me but not doing a very good job of it...

Open the person's snap profile and take note of his SnapScore which in this case is 4,857

Close Snapchat from recent apps button "NO do not press the back button that does not close snapchat" if you don't have a recent apps button for some reason, you can force stop snapchat from the apps section in "Settings"

Open SnapChat and do the same from step 2 and if the snapscore has changed which in my case it did change to 4,860 that means that person has either sent to or received snaps from other people, which means YES he is on Snapchat and YES he is ignoring you or ghosting

And the whole thing if even easier if the person has Location enabled you can just tell if he was on SnapChat by looking at his Map you can see this person was on SnapChat 12 seconds ago, pretty obvious i know but i still wanted to mention it

That's pretty much it, some people might have know about this some didn't or some don't care honestly the reason i wrote this is because im bored and have nothing to do right now, but hopefully someone finds this helpful

Send the Person a Snap

Another way to find out if someone is online on Snapchat is to send a message. If you send a quick message, you will be able to see if they read it. It will show as read and tell you the time when the person read it. Snapchat adds a timestamp to all sent and read snaps. It will tell you the time for up to 24 hours, and beyond that, it will just tell you what day something is read.

Once you send the snap, you can check the timestamp. Get the chats up by swiping right, and then scroll to your chat with this person. If they have read the message, you will see an empty square or an arrow depending on what you sent. Next to it, it will says “opened” and tell you when it was viewed. It might say 11s for 11 seconds or 2 min for 2 minutes. If your snap is read, then you know that the person is online receiving snaps.

Check the Person’s Snapscore

The snapscore is related to the number of snaps a person has sent. This includes private snaps and stories. If you look at the person’s snapscore and see it increase, that means they have just sent a snap. You can go to your friends list, and then tap the avatar of the person whose snapscore you want to check. The snapscore will be listed under the person’s name. It does take a few minutes to update, so you might want to give it a minute and check it again. You need to check it a few times to see if it increases. If they are online, it likely will.

Sometimes people send snaps to another person, and they don’t get a response. This can lead anyone to wonder if they are online. Some social media sites make it easy to find out, but with Snapchat, it takes some detective work. If your friend deleted you, uses Ghost Mode or denies location tracking to Snapchat, there is no way to find them on Snap Maps. Your best bet is to send a snap and wait to see if it is opened or to check their snapscore to see if they are sending any out. If you don’t see any activity, it is likely that they are not online.
