Ethnocentrism involves judging other cultures against the standards of your own culture. It relates to the prejudice and preconceptions one has while observing a different culture. One example is the way Filipinos deem it fine to eat using hands, however, a person of another culture might think it's unacceptable or unsanitary when eating with our hands is part of our culture especially during boodle fights when we serve food on a banana leaf.

Is Ethnocentrism bad?
- Generally speaking, yes. Judging other people's culture because it does not fit your standards or your own culture should be avoided. Although there will be times when we are ignorant of the culture of others, it does not mean that we cannot learn from them. Instead of judging someone else's culture, we should see it as something beautiful. Diversity in culture is something to be curious about because you will learn a lot from it--regarding traditions, history, and etc.
