In which ways was the Glorious Revolution different from the American Revolution and the French Revolution?

In the middle to late 1600's, the central power of England constant shift due to religious differences from generation to generation. In these times, there was a direct connection to whether or not Parliament had any power in the politics of the country and whether the current monarch was either a Catholic or a Protestant. When the presiding ruler was a faithful Catholic, the ideals of absolutism were bumped into "high gear" and the Parliament was merely an accessory for the monarchy. When the king or queen happened to be a Protestant, Parliament was put into high power and had a bigger say in politics and national matters. In the last few years towards the year 1688, King James the II was a Catholic tyrant who spent money without the Parliament's permission, held a standing army during times of peace, and persecuted Protestants in the cruelest ways possible. At the time, Parliament were quite opposed to this and wanted another Protestant ruler and as a result created a plan to drive the Catholic King out of England. To resolve this, Parliament acquired the the aid of the Netherlands to drive out the king. From this the Glorious Revolution was named for its reputation for being one of the only revolutions with absolutely no bloodshed.

The Parliament of England discovered that the wife of the Catholic King James the II was with child. This did not bode well for them as there is a high chance that the child would grow to become another Catholic monarch. To avoid this most undesirable fate, the Parliament acquired the aid of the Netherlands to drive out the King. To do this, Queen Mary and King William arrived in England along with their army. The armed forces of King James easily outnumbered those of his daughter, Mary, but many of his own soldiers turned and join the enemy. As a result, King James II fled to France while Mary and William proceeded to take the throne of England. From this another problem arose. Mary refused to take more power than her husband was given. To solve this crisis, Parliament decided to create the first joined monarchy.

The Glorious Revolution laid the foundation for the American Revolution, but the two had different outcomes. Unlike the American Revolution, the Revolution of England began due to the want/need to over throw an absolute ruler in their current Monarchy. The American Revolution, on the other hand, wanted to gain independence from their "Mother-country", England. Next, the Glorious Revolution was a relatively short-lived and bloodless. The American Revolution was known to be quit the opposite. The conflict lasted roughly ten years and was second to the French Revolution in terms of bloodshed and deaths. Aside from this, the two revolutions also began because of different causes. The American Revolution was started because England was imposing too many taxes and unfair laws on the colonies. The Glorious Revolution was caused by an unfair monarch of England.

The Glorious Revolution has been dubbed the "Bloodless Revolution" as it is the only revolution that was completely peaceful. The French Revolution was the exact opposite: it was the bloodiest revolution with the largest death toll. Thousands of French people guillotined. The Revolution commenced as the the lower class of France despised the government who did nothing for them. The Glorious Revolution began similarly as they both wished to overthrow the king, but in this case, the Parliament was the main victim rather than the people. Adding on to this, the revolution ended when parliament invited King William and Mary of Orange over from Holland to rule England if they signed the Bill of Rights and agreed to rule peacefully and fairly and they did. In contrast, the Age of Napoleon was put underway and France returned to being a once again powerful country.

Similarly to the Glorious Revolution, the Syrian and Egyptian Conflicts began due to the unhappiness of a group of people against their government. The British Parliament wished to overthrow their ruler, King James II, while the Syrians wished for a change in government as well as the Egyptians. To contrast, the Revolution of England was a peaceful and non-violent overturn of the government. The Syrian and Egyptian wars are turning out be as violent and dangerous as the French and American Revolutions. The Glorious Revolution has already come to an end, leaving England with a more successful government. On the other hand, the violence currently continues in the countries of Egypt and Syria and the world has yet to discover the result of these revolutions.
