This is a great NO PREP review game about genetics for students! The Unfair Game allows students to work in teams to try and answer questions correctly about genetics. The questions cover major genetics vocabulary (genotypes, phenotypes, dominant, recessive, allele, genetics, Punnett squares, probability, etc) and questions about interpreting cladograms. When they get a correct answer, they get to decide if they want to keep or give away the points BEFORE they even see them! That's the most fun

Students will work in groups to classify birds in the US based upon their habitat, range, diet, song, interactions with others, and their behavior. General Directions:Students will cut out all the birds and their descriptions. The task is to organize the birds in a cladogram based on their given traits. In this assignment, students are graded based upon their ability to state their claim, evidence, and reasoning. Great project to demonstrate evolutionary trends, behavioral traits, and physiologi

The student will learn how a cladogram illustrates an evolutionary hypothesis and makes predictions about evolutionary events. (i.e. the scientific method). The student will learn how cladograms depict relationships between taxa, and represent a “family tree” of life. The student will learn how to construct a cladogram from morphological data.

This is a simpler version of the previous cell phone cladogram investigation. The 1st version of the cell phone cladogram could potentially be a tad challenging for some students. I have simplified it by eliminating talk time and memory in each so that students can focus on building the cladogram. If you are looking for a more challenging one, the 1st version will be better suited. Please visit my store to see more of my fun stuff! Why not download this and all my resources for only $9.

Students are instructed to create a cladogram. This is VERY similar to my original cladogram creation assignment but it has 12 organisms instead of 6 or 10. Also, all of the organisms (with the possible exception of the polar bear) are marine organisms this time. Requires some basic background of DNA, codons, molecular biology, evolution, and taxonomy. There is a key on the 2nd page. Be sure not to print it for your students!
